Hudak Chiropractic Clinic, P.C.

Chiropractic Care for the Family

The History of Our Clinic

Hudak Chiropractic Clinic has a long history in St Joseph, Michigan. Originally, the clinic was built by Dr Corey in 1967. Dr Tom Hudak joined Dr Corey in practice in 1975 and they worked together for 3 years. Dr Corey passed away in 1979 and Doctor Hudak took over the practice.

Over the years, Dr Tom Hudak worked with other chiropractors including Dr Irene Cop who moved to Canada. In March 2003, Dr Erik Hudak and his wife Dr Heather Hudak joined their father in practice.

The clinic has had a history of caring for people with many different conditions and provides the best in Chiropractic care, keeping abreast of new technology.

Dr. Thomas Hudak

Dr Tom HudakDr. Thomas Hudak D.C., 62, of Bridgman, MI.; died Sunday December 19, 2010 in Cozumel, Mexico.

Tom was born in Washington DC on June 5, 1948 to John & Stasia (Kruszko) Hudak. He opened Hudak Chiropractic Clinic in 1972, after practicing for two years in Bridgman. He lovingly served the community for 40 years. On December 18, 2007 he married Nancy Maryniak. Tom loved his family and patients, farming, the beach and flying. He was an avid volleyball enthusiast. He is survived by his wife Nancy of Bridgman, first wife Joyce Hudak and their children, son Erik (Heather) Hudak of St. Joseph and daughter Lisa (Mike) Gathright of Stevensville; three grandchildren James and Jenna Gathright, and Evan Hudak; brother George (Linda) Hudak of Toledo, OH, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Emily Gathright and a brother John Hudak.

Here is a letter Dr. Tom wrote to all his patients after he retired:

To my patients:

It is hard for me to believe thirty-six years have passed since I began my practice here. It is even harder for me to acknowledge that my golden years have arrived. Most days I still feel energetic enough to go looking for a pick-up game of beach volleyball.

But time has its way of passing and it is time for me to retire. I will be leaving my practice at the end of June. I hope to be able to travel, which I was not really able to do when I was concerned with your care and running the business of an active Chiropractic clinic.

I am very lucky to be turning my practice and your care over to two very qualified doctors whom I know and trust. For the last three years I have been working with Drs. Erik and Heather Hudak, my son and daughter-in-law. I am confident that they share my views on Chiropractic health care and holistic care for your overall wellness. I suppose it gives me some gratification to think it takes two of them to replace one of me, but in this case, such are the demands of a growing practice.

They have had the finest Chiropractic training available. They are both graduates of Palmer College of Chiropractic; which, you may know, is my alma mater. Palmer still provides the best Chiropractic training. It is, in fact, the “Harvard” of chiropractic schools.

You may find that Drs. Erik and Heather run the business side of the practice in a more formal manner. This is a necessity of changing times. Insurance companies and Medicare demand more paperwork and phone negotiation; more work behind the scenes in order to get your claims processed.

I hope you will continue in the care of Drs. Erik and Heather. However, if you choose to leave the care of Hudak Chiropractic Clinic, please know that your patient records will be available to you.

I have very much enjoyed knowing and serving each of you. It seems like you have always been a part of my life. Your health and wellness have been my primary concern and I appreciate your trust in me all these years.

I thank you for your good wishes as I enter a new phase of my life.

Thomas J. Hudak, DC
